TENANTS GUIDE TO THE NEW TENANT FEE ACT 2019 AND PERMITTED CHARGES FOR AGENTS

Under the terms of the new Tenant Fee Act, if you enter into an Assured Shorthold Tenancy, payments which apply will be as follows
Holding deposit - maximum one weeks rent
First months rent - in advance on move in
Deposit - equal to one months rent + £100
Changing Tenancy Documents after dates have been set - £50 + VAT
Charges for losing keys or security devices - equivalent to charges incurred
Default charges for late rent - 3% above Bank of England base rate, when rent more than 14 days late
Early termination when requested by the Tenant - a charge not exceeding the financial loss incurred by the Landlord

NON HOUSING ACT TENANCIES Rooftops an administration fee of £250 + VAT, (£300), for non housing act tenancies.
